One of Argentina's major industries, construction, fell year-on-year for the month of April by 3%. This also represents a fall from the start of the year by 2.7%. Nevertheless, construction activity already grew by 3.6% compared to the previous month. This is largely attributed to seasonal effects.
The construction industry is often used in Argentina as the index of economic activity during midyear. This most likely represents a slowdown in the Argentine economy.
