The Brits have submitted to the United Nations a claim to extend its continental limits and rights over the seabed off the coast of the Falkland islands and if successful would increase seabed jurisdiction from 200 nautical miles to 350 miles. Argentina angrily opposes the claim where Jorge Taiana, Argentina's foreign minister, said that assuming extended competence over the said land inadmissible and unacceptable.
