At least 20 farmers from rural Argentina were arrested in yet another protest of farmers near the Uruguayan border.A standoff between the farmers and the government has been occurring for already three months now after Cristina Fernandez, the Argentine president, ordered to raise export taxes by more than ten percent. In what can be seen to be a surprising event, Argentina may fail to fulfill its export quota of beef to the European Union.According to the contract, Argentina is supposed to supply around $28,000 tons of boneless beef to the countries of the EU, selling the meat at around $10,000 US dollars every ton.
