Rank outsider, Daniel Vancsik of the Argentina, displayed no nervousness running up an eight-shot lead into the final nine holes, and became the European Tour’s 10th first-time winner of the season after only 17 events when he won the Madeira Islands Open yesterday by seven strokes.

Argentina refuses to extradite criminal to Israel

Argentina to host next Womens Hockey World Cup

Argentina has been chosen to host the 2010 Womens Hockey World Cup competition, according to an announcement by the executive committee of the sport's international federation. In order to qualify it will have to provide a high-tech 15,000 seat stadium for the tournament.

Blair backs Thatcher's 1982 decision

La Perla survivors still waiting for justice to be done.

March, 24 was the 31st anniversary of the of the 1976 military coup which lead to such abuses as the establishment of the infamous "La Perla" torture center. Only 17 of the more than 2,200 political prisoners held there survived to tell the tale.

Argentina at top of FIFA world rankings

There have been some interesting changes to the FIFA world soccer rankings. Previous leaders for over 3 years, Brazil, slipped to third place, while Argentina moved into first place and Italy moved down to second.
