A move to preserve Tango

Tango is a musical genre and its associated dance forms that originated in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Montevideo, Uruguay, and spread to the rest of the world soon after that.

Carlos Gardel had petitioned for for Tango to be in the protected cultural heritage list together with Vedic chanting of India and Kabuki Theater of Japan.

Regarding this matter United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization Committee held their meeting in Paris to consider their petition.
